Who is She…
Dr. Geneva A. Stark, is currently a Clinical Professor in the Organizational Leadership and Learning Department at the University Louisville. She is a servant leader, visionary, educator, diversity, equity & inclusion consultant, education consultant, achiever, collaborator, strategic planner, connector, and a problem-solver. She is a native of New Orleans, LA, who currently resides in Metro Louisville.
Dr. Stark offers a career earmarked by collaborative and creative leadership practices applied across a broad spectrum of school leadership challenges. She has enjoyed a successful career as a district-level administrator, a high school principal, assistant principal, teacher, track and field coach, adjunct professor and consultant. In each role she worked with diverse students, parents, staff, and community populations.
Dr. Stark was one of four administrators recently selected by the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) to participate in a prestigious superintendent fellowship program. This program provided Dr. Stark with the clinical experience for becoming a superintendent or executive administrator. The program focused on superintendent and board relationships, academic achievement, assessment, strategic planning, early college, parental involvement and a host of other educational challenges.
Dr. Stark earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership-Organizational Development and Policy from the University of Louisville and holds a Professional Certificate for School Superintendent, Instructional Supervision and Instructional Leadership. She received her Principalship, Supervision and Director of Pupil Personnel certification from Western Kentucky University. She received her Master’s from the University of New Orleans in Education and her under graduate degree in Secondary Education from Xavier University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Stark also holds a National Diversity Council Certification as a Diversity and Inclusion Professional and she also completed the National Education Association Diversity Curriculum.
